Why did I get an order delayed for hours?

This can happen if an order is sent to a point-of-sale system that is offline.

If a POS is offline when an app sends through an order, the app won't receive a response from the POS.

Some apps will cancel an order automatically if no response is received from the POS within a certain period of time.

If an app doesn't do this, the order is sent through when the POS comes online again (sometimes hours later), as if it had just been placed.
