Routing orders to different printers

Most restaurants need to print specific menu items on separate printers. For example, if an order has drinks and appetisers, you can set up a bar printer to receive drinks, and a kitchen printer to receive appetisers.

For any questions or support on printing issues, including configuring the layout of dockets printed by your POS, please contact your POS provider.

If you wish to set up or change where orders are printed in your venue, please refer to the following POS-specific articles or contact your POS provider.

H&L

Each item in H&L has a defined Print Group which determines where it will be printed when the item is sold (e.g., Kitchen, Drinks, Pizza). Item Print Groups are configured in the PLU Details screen when an item is created.

Refer to these H&L Knowledge Base articles for details:

Impos

Can I configure print jobs to be sent per register in venue?

Currently, this is not possible. Doshii can only send the location a print command and then the Print Queue for Doshii handles where the print job will appear.

Lightspeed

Please refer to this Lightspeed support article about how to set up single-product printing.

Ordermate

Printer groups are the first step in determining where items print. Items are assigned to printer groups when creating an item. Printer groups are later assigned to a virtual printer (docket) - per account type - per terminal location.

Menu Items are assigned to a printer group on the item set-up page.

Unlimited printer groups can be created. An item is assigned to only one printer group, but each printer group can print at multiple physical printers if required. Refer to this Ordermate help guide for details.

Square

Square POS supports this by allowing you to:

  1. Assign your items to specific categories, and
  2. Route the categories to nominated printers via a receipt printer station.
