Can I send items with a different price to the menu item or variant?

Absolutely! With a "but".

When you send with a posId and an invalid value, the POS will automatically reject your request.

On the flip side, if you sent without a posId, the POS will accept any price you send. Which means you should be extra careful sending prices for open items/variants as they will be honored by the POS without manual intervention.
